LEEDTM: Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design
LEED
is the U.S. Green Building Council's (USGBC) rating system that evaluates
sustainable design for new and existing buildings. It is a comprehensive,
voluntary design and assessment tool created to help those in the building
industry improve performance and help measure the sustainability of their
projects. At Bridgers & Paxton we are committed to designing energy-efficient,
environmentally friendly, and physically comfortable buildings for our
clients.
B&P offers a full range of sustainable design services and has on staff nine accredited LEED professionals who keep the B&P Team up-to-date in the use of the LEED system. Many of the LEED design guidelines have been used by Bridgers & Paxton for years in our design of sustainable buildings. B&P has historically designed buildings with an eye towards:
- Indoor Environmental Quality
- Energy-efficient HVAC and Lighting
- Water-efficient Plumbing
- Measurement and Verification
The LEED rating system involves owners, contractors, architects, engineers, occupants, and building officials. B&P recognizes that through successful partnerships with these team members we can design buildings that are sensitive to the needs our clients, communities and the environment. The LEED program is structured to involve the entire owner/design team throughout the design, construction, and operation of a building to achieve a green design. Green design includes design and construction practices that significantly reduce or eliminate the negative impact of buildings on the environment and occupants, addressing:
